What's On

Schedule of events coming soon

In 2020, we will be supporting Cancer Research UK.

Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK are excited to be attending the Cheese & Chilli festivals as the dedicated charity for 2020. We are the world’s largest charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Our vision it to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. In the 1970’s, less than a quarter of people with cancer survived. But over the last 40 years, survival has doubled – today half will survive. Our ambition it to accelerate progress and see 3 in 4 people surviving the disease by 2034.

The Cancer Research UK team will be controlling our car park at the weekend and will be asking for any donations to help the cause.

Race For Life

WE DON’T BREAK RECORDS. WE BEAT CANCER.

MAKE A DATE TO JOIN THE RACE FOR LIFE IN Bournemouth – Sunday 14th June & in Poole – Sunday 21st June

Race for Life brings millions of people together to raise vital funds to support lifesaving research and help beat cancer. This year the South Events Team are teaming up with the organisers of the Cheese & Chilli festival to get as many of you involved as possible and we have some exciting things coming your way, so watch this space.

Georgina Horne, Cancer Research UK’s Event Manager, said: “This year, our Race for Life events are open to everyone. We’re sending a heart-felt message to anybody who’s thought about signing up in the past but for one reason or another hasn’t got around to it.  This is your year – please seize the opportunity to register for your local event and become part of the Race for Life community. She added: “Our events are fun, colourful, emotional and uplifting. Participants take part at their own pace – taking as much time as they like to complete the course. For some people, the Race for Life is literally a walk in the park.  For others, it’s a jog or a run. Although ‘Race’ features in the name, our events are not competitive. Instead, ‘the Race for Life’ is about our doctors, nurses and scientists working as hard and fast as possible to help more people survive.”

This year, for the first time, Cancer Research UK is inviting everyone in the area – women, men and children – to join the Race for Life. The events for people of all ages and abilities are taking place at The Seafront in Bournemouth on June 14th and Baiter Park in Poole on June 21st and we can’t wait to see you all there.

“One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer, at some point during their lifetime.  Sadly, this means nearly everyone is touched by the disease, either directly or through a loved one or friend.

“To make a significant difference in the fight against cancer we need to harness as much energy and commitment as possible – so what better way than involving everyone in the community in our events.”

Please bring and use your own water bottles. Try to conserve water on non-essential use. Do not bring glass; no glass bottles are allowed on site.  We will also be offering visitors the opportunity to purchase a sustainable reusable cup instead of using single use plastic containers at the bar.  We are actively exploring other ways that we can help reduce our carbon footprint. Together we can make a difference.

Top 5 things you can do to help:

1. Recycle, recycle recycle!!

2. Keep tidy.  Please don’t leave rubbish or equipment

3. Bring your own water bottle and refill onsite

4. Car share

5. Use public transport or as sustainable as possible transport, particularly if local
